Department Objectives
- Preparing a highly qualified academic staff capable of managing integrated scientific and research curricula, with a strong commitment to student-centered learning and keeping pace with advances in surgical teaching methodologies.
- The Department of Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Radiology is considered one of the largest and most important clinical specialties due to the breadth of its subspecialties and the diversity of its undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These include general surgery, anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging and radiology, specialized surgery, hoof and claw surgery, ophthalmic surgery, oncologic surgery, dental care, equine sports medicine, orthopedic surgery, minimally invasive (endoscopic) surgical techniques, radiographic imaging, and ultrasonography.
- Ensuring deep learning among students by emphasizing the importance of curricular integration, whereby each instructional unit is complete and complementary to other developmental modules, while also promoting the adoption of small-group teaching sessions.
- Encouraging undergraduate and postgraduate students to actively participate in the management of clinical cases, particularly emergency surgical cases, and supporting them through the use of advanced and modern simulation-based training tools.
