Welcome to the Department of Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Radiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Benha University.

The Department of Surgery is one of the largest clinical departments in the Faculty and represents a fundamental pillar supporting both the educational and clinical missions. It also plays a central role in the delivery of therapeutic services at the Faculty’s Teaching Hospital. The Department is distinguished by its comprehensive educational, training, and research activities, which include undergraduate teaching; integrated teaching in collaboration with other academic departments; and postgraduate education for diploma, master’s, and doctoral students in the fields of surgery, anesthesiology, and radiology. In addition, the Department delivers a wide range of surgical courses for students enrolled in the general program as well as in newly established specialized programs.

The Department is responsible for the management and performance of emergency surgical procedures, as well as conventional and advanced surgical operations, all conducted with a high level of professional competence. Furthermore, the Head of the Department supervises the Diagnostic Radiology Unit, which constitutes a key component of the Faculty’s special units sector, owing to its pivotal role in enhancing the practical and technical skills of students and graduates across all aspects of diagnostic imaging and surgical practice.

Moreover, the Department actively contributes to the supervision and evaluation of postgraduate theses and participates in local, regional, and international scientific conferences. It also engages in scientific workshops and seminars, both within the Faculty and in external academic and professional settings.
