About faculty

The Genesis of Excellence (Established 1981)

Marking its inception with Presidential Decree No. 278 on May 28, 1981, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Zagazig University, Banha Branch, has its roots deeply embedded in the rich academic soils of Moshtohor. Our journey began with a pioneering batch of 47 students in the preparatory class, initially attending lectures at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagazig during the academic year 1982/1983. The following year marked a significant milestone as we moved to our permanent abode in Moshtohor, laying the foundation for decades of educational excellence.

Our Expansive Campus

Nestled on a sprawling campus of over four and a half acres, our faculty has grown both in space and stature. It stands today not just as a building but as a beacon of veterinary education and research.

Regulatory Milestones and Infrastructure Development

Our journey has been guided by evolving regulations, starting with the Ministerial Decree No. (921) on September 15, 1979, and subsequent amendments aligning with our infrastructural expansions. Our campus saw the rise of Laboratory Building No. 2 in 1987, the Veterinary Hospital and clinical departments in 1990, and the addition of Laboratory Buildings No. 1, 3, and 4. These buildings are not just structures but pillars of learning and discovery, equipped with facilities for student examinations, scientific discourse, seminars, and central laboratories.

Academic Growth and Expansion

From our modest beginnings with a handful of dedicated professors and lecturers, we have burgeoned into a thriving academic community. In sixteen years, we have expanded to include thirty-two professors, twenty-eight assistant professors, twenty-five lecturers, twenty-three assistant lecturers, and twelve demonstrators. This growth is a testament to our commitment to providing top-tier veterinary education.

Modern Developments

The new millennium ushered in a new era for us with the establishment of three special character units, a building for postgraduate clinical studies, and a main central laboratory. Our developmental trajectory continued with the construction of a new lecture hall complex and a state-of-the-art administrative building in 2000, encapsulating our commitment to continual growth and excellence.

Join us as we celebrate our history and forge ahead into a future filled with innovation, learning, and unparalleled veterinary expertise.
