Responsible for leading the unit, supervising assessment processes, coordinating with departments, ensuring quality standards, and overseeing exam analysis and documentation.

The Measurement & Evaluation Unit is committed to developing, implementing, and monitoring high‑quality assessment systems that enhance the effectiveness of the educational process.
The unit supports academic departments in designing valid and reliable exams, analyzing student performance, improving course and program outcomes, and ensuring alignment with national academic standards and quality assurance requirements.

Objectives

1. Improve Assessment Quality

  • Develop standardized, valid, and reliable assessment tools for courses and programs.
  • Ensure alignment between learning outcomes, teaching methods, and evaluation methods.

2. Support Academic Departments

  • Provide technical support for designing question banks and exam specifications.
  • Assist departments in preparing course reports and analyzing assessment results.

3. Enhance Transparency & Fairness

  • Promote fairness in evaluating student performance through objective, measurable tools.
  • Increase credibility of exam processes and maintain academic integrity.

4. Build Capacity of Faculty Members

  • Train academic staff on modern assessment methods, rubric design, and exam analysis.
  • Encourage the adoption of electronic assessment and digital exam systems.

5. Promote Continuous Improvement

  • Utilize exam and performance analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for enhancement.
  • Provide periodic feedback to departments and the faculty leadership to support decision‑making.

6. Support Institutional Accreditation

  • Align assessment practices with National Academic Reference Standards (NARS).
  • Document measurement and evaluation evidence required for internal and external audits.

Services of the Unit

1. Exam Design & Review

  • Preparing exam blueprints and specifications tables.
  • Reviewing exam questions for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with learning outcomes.
  • Supporting the creation and updating of course‑level and program‑level question banks.

2. Performance Analysis

  • Statistical analysis of exam results (difficulty index, discrimination index, reliability).
  • Preparing reports for departments and faculty leadership.

3. Digital Assessment Services

  • Supporting the implementation of electronic exams and online evaluation tools.
  • Managing secure exam delivery standards where applicable.

4. Training & Capacity Building

  • Workshops on exam construction, rubric development, and assessment strategies.
  • Training faculty on constructive alignment (LOs → teaching → assessment).

5. Evaluation Tools & Surveys

  • Designing student satisfaction surveys, graduate follow‑up surveys, and course evaluation forms.
  • Analyzing feedback and presenting actionable reports.

6. Quality Assurance Support

  • Providing measurement‑related documentation for quality reviews.
  • Ensuring consistency between assessment practices and NARS requirements.

7. Support for Program Review

  • Participating in program evaluation committees.
  • Contributing to development and revision of course and program learning outcomes.
