Objectives
- Provide scientific and technical consultations as a specialized advisory center at the national and regional levels for the poultry industry.
- Raise public awareness about poultry care and diseases.
- Establish collaborative agreements with scientific centers of similar specialization at the national and international levels.
- Organize training courses for veterinarians to enhance their skills in the poultry industry.
- Conduct training programs for poultry and rabbit farmers to improve their capabilities, raise the standards of their farms, and preserve the environment from pollution.
Achievements
1. Diagnostic Services:
- The center has received cases from poultry and rabbit flocks for postmortem examinations, sensitivity testing, and other requested services. Prices were set based on the center’s regulations.
- Cases handled between 2001 and 2008: 29 cases with a revenue of 640 EGP.
- Cases handled from 2008 to date: 21 cases with a revenue of 460 EGP.
2. Feasibility Studies:
- Conducted feasibility studies for both short- and long-term projects, including two major studies presented to the faculty:
- Feasibility study for a project producing 15 million eggs annually.
- Feasibility study for a broiler chicken production project.
3. Training and Awareness Programs:
- Organized seminars to educate and raise awareness among poultry farmers and farm owners, including:
- Seminar on Respiratory Diseases in Poultry (2001) sponsored by EgypcoPharma.
- Seminar on Coccidiosis in Poultry and Control Methods (2002) sponsored by ArabcoMed.
- Seminar on Respiratory Diseases in Poultry (November 19, 2008) sponsored by Egavet.

6.Crisis and Disaster Management Unit
Vision
To establish the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Benha University, as a highly capable entity prepared to address zoonotic epidemic diseases (transmitted from animals to humans). The unit aims to intervene swiftly to prevent the spread of diseases among humans through an efficient and well-structured mechanism for disease prevention, immediate response, and control. Furthermore, it aspires to enhance crisis management through continuous awareness and prevention of the root causes of such crises.
Mission
To position the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Benha University, as a distinguished entity in addressing crises and disasters, particularly biological ones, at both the local and regional levels.
