Department Objectives

Objectives of the Department

The Department of Biochemistry achieves a set of educational, training, and community objectives that contribute to developing students' capabilities and knowledge, enhancing biochemistry and molecular biology curricula, and participating in the development of college resources.

First: Educational Objectives

  1. Familiarize students with the fundamental concepts and theories in biochemistry and how to apply them practically.
  2. Choose appropriate methods for analyzing different samples based on available capabilities and sample nature.
  3. Acquire information in the field of specialization through awareness, writing, and application.
  4. Develop the ability to interpret results obtained from available information.
  5. Provide opportunities for outstanding students to complete their postgraduate studies through diploma, master's, and Ph.D. programs.
  6. Provide books, references, research, and journals to keep students informed about current knowledge developments.

Second: Training Objectives

  1. Conduct summer training courses for students on laboratory diagnostics.
  2. Organize workshops in the college's central laboratories to introduce students of programs and postgraduate studies to the principles and basics of medical analysis.
  3. Organize workshops in the college's central laboratories to introduce students of programs and postgraduate studies to molecular biology.

Third: Community Objectives

  1. Participate in scientific conferences by department faculty members and their assistants, both within and outside the university.
  2. Deliver scientific lectures to disseminate scientific culture among community members.
  3. Conduct scientific research and apply research plan axes to solve some problems facing the community.
  4. Attract and manage excellence projects funded to increase college resources.
